When you open the AgeSafe app, you will see your Main Dashboard, which acts as your control center.

- Welcome Message: A friendly greeting with a quick overview, “Your Store’s Gatekeeper — add an age check in seconds with clean design and powerful results.”
- Setup Guide: Step-by-step prompts to help you get started quickly.
- Action Buttons (Top Right):
- Docs: Opens this detailed documentation.
- Edit Age Gate: Opens the customization panel for your age verification popup.

The dashboard also shows analytics for Pro users, including how many visitors passed or failed the age check.

🚀 Setup Guide

Step 1: Activate AgeSafe App Embed

To show the age verification popup on your storefront, you must enable the AgeSafe App Embed in your Shopify theme:

- Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize in Shopify.
- Find the App Embeds section in the theme editor sidebar.
- Toggle AgeSafe on to enable the popup.
- Save your changes.

This is required for the app to work.

Step 2: Enable Age Verification

- Go to the Settings page inside the AgeSafe app.
- Toggle the Age Verification Status switch to Enable.
- This activates age verification on your storefront or targeted products/collections.

🔧 Age Verification Settings

Configure how your age verification popup looks and behaves:

General Settings

- Age Verification Status: Turn age checks on or off globally.
- Verification Title: Text displayed at the top of the popup, e.g., “Are you 18 or older?”
- Verification Description: A short message explaining why age verification is needed (e.g., “Please confirm your age to comply with legal requirements.”).
- Primary Button Text: Label for the confirmation button (e.g., “Agree”).
- Secondary Button Text: Label for the cancel button (e.g., “Disagree”).

Show Age Check On

- Free Plan: AgeSafe supports targeting up to 2 products or collections.
- Pro Plan: Unlimited product and collection targeting.
- Select Products/Collections: Choose the products or collections where the age verification popup will be shown.

Verification Method

- Currently, AgeSafe supports Date of Birth Verification, where customers enter their full date of birth.

Age Requirement

- Set the minimum age required to access your store or product (e.g., 17+).

Upload Store Logo

- Add your store’s logo or an icon to appear on the age verification popup for branding.

🧠 Behavior Settings (Pro Plan Only)

Fine-tune how the popup behaves to improve security and user experience:

- Verification Failure Behavior: Choose what happens if a visitor fails the age verification (usually block access).
- Enable Secure Layer: Prevents bypassing the popup by disabling page interactions until verification is complete.
- Enable Exit Intent Protection: Stops users from leaving the verification screen without confirming their age.
- Exit Intent Message: Customize the message shown when a user attempts to leave prematurely (e.g., “Hold on! You must verify your age before leaving the site.”).
- Remove AgeSafe Watermark: Hide the "Powered by AgeSafe" branding from the popup.

🌍 Country-Based Rules (Pro Plan Only)

Stay compliant internationally by setting country-specific minimum age requirements:

- Enable Display Time by Country: Activates location-based rules to apply different age restrictions depending on the visitor’s country.
